RuPaul's Drag Race Allstars 3 - The Midseasons RuCap

The RuPaul’s Drag Race Allstars 3 Midseason RuCap

Can you believe that we’re about halfway through another season of RuPual’s Drag Race?! And the Queens competing in season 10 have also been ruvealed? I’m on drag race overload! But before season 10 begins at the end of March, we still have to crown a new winner. With only 5 queens left standing, it is all to play for. Join me as we discuss the remaining queens in the RuPaul’s Drag Race Allstars 3 Midseason RuCap.

Before we begin, shall we discuss the queens that have been eliminated. So far, we have lost – Morgan McMichaels, Thorgy Thor, Milk, Chi Chi DeVayne and (5th queen here). I wasn’t surprised to see Morgan go first, was never a fan. I’m disappointed to see both season 8 queens Thorgy and Chi Chi go early. I like Thorgy but she was in her head too much, sabotaging herself. And Chi Chi clearly had imposter syndrome. As for Milk – wtf. I really liked her Milk in her original season but she came across incredibly arrogant on this season. Major turn off. And there is Aja who has completely changed my impression of her. She’s gone from cocky to really likeable and I now look forward to seeing what she does post Drag Race. But enough about those we’ve lost, let’s discuss those still in the running to become America’s Next Drag Allstar Winner.

Bebe Zahara Bennet

RuPaul's Drag Race Allstars 3 - Bebe Sahara Bennett

The first winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Bebe is seen by royalty and not just because she win the inaugural season. There is just this aura around Bebe, this power that exudes from her. I can understand why all the other girls feel intimidated by her. That being said, Bebe has been middle of the pack for most of the show. She’s been good but never the stand out. It makes me question whether she is actually in the running for the crown or if there is some twist around the corner? Either way, it’s been fantastic to see her on our screens again. We need to see more season 1 queens back!

Ben DeLaCreme

RuPaul's Drag Race Allstars 3 - Ben Dela Creme

It amazes me that even though Ben DeLaCreme constantly delivers, we’re still shocked at how good she is. Looking back at season 6, she really should have been in the top 3. She’s incredibly polished, everything she does is true to her brand and always rises to the challenge. I know some critique her for getting upset over having to eliminate people but I think that’s just Ben. I don’t think it’s an act at all. For me, Ben has been the star of Allstars 3 and should absolutely be in the final.

Kennedy Davenport

Like Ben, it can be easy to forget how good Kennedy Davenport can be. But unlike Ben, Kennedy still has some issues with consistency. Despite winning Snatch Game in her season, she completely tanked in Allstars Snatch Game. She’s an incredible performer, so full of energy but her runway looks are really hit and miss. I guess it’s just down to personal taste but I’ve yet to see Kennedy give me two consistently good looks in a row. I like her a lot but I think a top 4 finish is where she’ll land.

RuPaul's Drag Race Allstars 3 - Shangela

Shangela has given me so much this season. Coming into the show, everyone expected Trixie to be the one providing the incredible confessionals and meme worthy moments but it’s been Shangela. She has been an absolute hoot since the very first episode. And I’m not just saying that cause she follows me on Twitter. It’s amazing to see how far she’s come with her drag from season 2. It’s like a completely different person. I’m torn as to whether I’d like Ben or Shangela to win but at the moment, I am team Shangela.

Trixie Mattel

Trixie is undoubtedly the most popular queen outside of the show. She has a lot of fans. And I’m sure those fans will come for me for what I’m about to say. I don’t think she is very good. Hear me out okay! Trixie claims to be a comedy queen but she’s never made me laugh. Not even once. Snatch Game should have been her moment and she bombed. It was painful to watch. Her confessionals aren’t funny. Her comment about Chi Chi DeVayne and Kennedy Davenport being the same person reeked off unintended racism. Trixie hasn’t delivered at all this season and yet, I think she’ll win. From the get go, it was obvious that producers had picked her as the winner. But how will they engineer it so that it looks like a worthy win? We’ll need to wait and see.

And that concludes another RuPual’s Drag Race rucap. With the final mere weeks away and season 10 straight after, we have a lot more Drag Race to enjoy. Regardless of what happens, remember that it’s only a TV show. Oh and if you can’t love yourself, how the hell are you going to love somebody else. Can I get an amen?
