2017 - A Year in Review

2017: A Year In Review

And here it is – my final post of 2017. 2017 has been a really fantastic year for me with a lot of highs. And now as we all look to the year ahead, I do hope 2018 will be as good as these past 12 months. Anyway, I thought I’d write a blog about my highlights of 2017. So here it is – 2017: A year in review.

Learning To Drive

The first big moment of 2017 for me was when I passed my driving test. It took me two attempts to pass and I’m still adamant that I failed the first time because the examiner was a twat. But let’s not dwell on that! I can remember feeling so relieved when I passed the second time and then dread once I had a car and I was driving on my own. Now I’m perfectly comfortable driving and frustrated that it took me so long to learn. It would have made these last few years so much easier if I had been able to drive!

Canada

My Canadian Adventure

It’s always been my dream to visit Canada and it was great to not only tick that off my bucket list but also to do so when it was my husbands birthday. You can read all about our Canadian adventure here. We loved it so much that we are looking to emigrate there at some point in the future.

Nintendo Switch

Everyone knows I’m a gamer and a Nintendo fanboy so any new Nintendo console release is a big deal to me. Such a big deal that I booked time off work. Pre-ordered at my local Smyths toys, I was filled with so much excitement when I picked up my Switch console along with ‘The Legend of Zelda:Breath of the Wild’. Setting the console up for the first time and those first few hours of Zelda will forever be locked in my memory as one of my finest gaming memories.

Birthday in Berlin

A Birthday in Berlin

Along with Canada, Germany has also somewhere where I’ve always wanted to go. France and Germany are the big countries of Europe for me and I’ve been to France a lot so it was about time to visit Berlin. And for my 30th too. You can read all about my birthday in Berlin here. If you’ve never been then you definitely need to go.

A New Arrival

No, Steven and I haven’t had a baby. Children are not for us. But I did become an uncle again. Archie Smith joined our family on 15th September and he’s already gotten so big and strong. I’m excited to see him grow in 2018.

Disneyland

2017: A year in review - Paris

a weekend in Paris - xmas decorations and the castle at night

What a fantastic way to top off a brilliant year than with a visit to Disneyland at Christmas time. I’ve always wanted to go to Disneyland Paris during the festive season and this year I finally got to do it! And it was exactly how I imagined it and more.

As you can see, 2017 was a really great year for me. Here’s to 2018! Happy New Year when it comes!
