We’re now well into the Christmas season and I don’t know about you guys but Xmas shopping is hard! Usually, I am super organised and know exactly what I’m getting everyone. Not this year however. I am stuck on several people and am really struggling to come up with any ideas. In an attempt to try and shake it up, I am trying to buy my gifts from smaller local businesses. I think it makes Christmas more exciting as people are receiving gifts that they wouldn’t expect. Anyone can walk into a supermarket and buy a box of chocolates so why not buy from small businesses and get something a little more unique? Here are some of my recommendations of where to shop this Christmas.
If you’re stuck for gift ideas for your mum, your sister or even your gran then you should definitely check Eigen Interiors out. Based in Paisley, Eigen Interiors sells a range of home decor goods from diffusers to vases, jewellery to wall art. I love Eigen as they offer great alternatives to stores such as Next and Debenhams. They sell a range of brands including Firefrost Jewellery and Max Benjamin Candles and Diffuers. It’s a really eclectic range of goods and are recent stockists of the Scottish Fine Soaps Company range! It certainly makes a change from the usual generic gifts.
You can see the full Eigen range at theEigen Interiors website.
Stvdio5 is run by my friend Antonio. Based in Sheffield, Stvdio5 sell completely vegan, animal friendly body care products including bath bombs, shampoo and candles. I’ve had a few of their bath bombs and soap bars and they’ve been great. They have a great smell and the soaps last longer than I expected them too. And even better, they have a sale on their Christmas range so order now before it’s too late!
You can see the full Stvdio5 range at the Stvdio5 website.
One thing that always happen every Christmas is the abundance of chocolate which takes weeks to shift. There is only so much Quality Street I can eat. Allmark Sweets specialise in retro and American sweets which is perfect if you are looking for something different. Remember those sweets you used to eat when you were a kid? Allmarks probably sell them. I always buy their ‘Fudgetastic Pack’ for my dad every year, 8 huge bars of different flavoured nugget. My dad loves it.
You can check out the range of sweets on offer by visiting the Allmark Sweets website.
