Oops She Did It Again – The 10 Best Britney Tracks

Best Britney Tracks

I was sitting in my work the other day listening to Pulse 98.4 when an old Britney Spears track came on. It was one of the classics and it got me thinking about the legendary Miss Spears and how huge she used to be. It’s been a while since I’ve actually listened to much Britney tracks so you know what that means right? It’s time for a countdown with Britney bitch.

10

If You Seek Amy

Remember when there was a huge uproar at Fox News over this song. So ridiculously embarrassing. If You Seek Amy is a pretty standard pop song but it’s just so effortlessly catchy and Brit looks amazing in the video.

09

My Prerogative

I can still remember reading in the newspaper way back in 2004 that Britney was covering this track for her first Greatest Hits collection. Originally by Bobby Brown but it’s also the perfect Britney song. A seriously underrated gem in her discography.

08

Work Bitch

The lead single from 2013’s ‘Britney Jean’, Work Bitch is really the only decent track on the entire album. A high energy electro dance track, I love listening to Work Bitch when I’m working at the gym. It’s the best song to keep you going during cardio.

07

Womanizer

This was essentially the comeback track after her personal issues throughout 2007/2008 and it’s still a bop. I absolutely love the production and the hooks in the melody are great. It’ also one of Britney’s best videos.

06

Baby One More Time

The song that started it all. It was 1998, I was 11 years old and this was absolutely everywhere! I was obsessed with both the song and the video. I wanted so much to be one of the male dancers in the video and be Britney’s friend!

05

Stronger

The 3rd single from Britney’s second album, I remember this being played everywhere when I was on holiday in Portugal. I was so desperate for this album that my parents bought me it in Portugal and only did I realise years later that it was a bootleg copy!

04

Oops!…I Did It Again

I know some will be shocked that I placed this higher than ‘Baby One More Time’ but Oops is just better okay! It’s just so infectious and I absolutely love the talky bit in the middle. Awwww you shouldn’t have.

03

Gimme More

Gimme More has a really special place in my heart because I bought the ‘Blackout’ album that this is from on the day I had my first date with my husband. Gimme More is one of those songs that if it was released today, it would still be a hit. It still sounds incredibly current.

02

(You Drive Me) Crazy

I can remember seeing the music video for the first time with Sabrina and being RAGING that it was a different version from the album. I had to wait until 2005 to actually own this song! Damn you Britney! This is classic pop Britney – the amazing production, classic Britney vocals and who can forget the crimped hair in the video. Brilliant.

01

Slave 4 U

It’s funny that this is now my favourite Britney song because growing up, it didn’t come close. It’s interesting how your music tastes change as you get older. Everything about this song and that era for Britney was 100% perfection. The incredible video and that unforgettable performance with the snake. Britney at her absolute best.

Now I’m sure you are wondering at this point ‘Where the hell is Toxic?’, my husband certainly just did. Sorry folks, Toxic isn’t even in my top 15 Britney songs, sorry about it! What are your favourite Britney tracks? Let me know in the comments below and as always, thanks for reading.

Agree with no1! One of my favourite Britney songs is “Everytime” – it shows such a vulnerability and the emotional side of BritBrit you never got to see before.

Yeah I like Everytime too but I def prefer the pop stompers.

Plus I saw her perform Everytime live (like actual live vocal live) and she…wasn’t good.
